Club Fitter Gareth Benson will work with you to find the perfect Metals and Irons for your game, and custom fit them by matching your swing, build and overall style of play to the ideal Club Length, Lie Angle, Shaft Flex, Grip Size STEP 1: CLUB LENGTH
Proper club length is no small thing. Using an improper length club makes it difficult for you to hit the sweet zone consistently, resulting in a loss of distance and accuracy. Gareth will observe your posture and hand position as you grip a standard length club. After finding a club that appears to be the right length for you, they will apply face impact tape on the club. Now you’ll hit a few shots to observe your ball strike location pattern. From this, they will make final recommendations for your ideal club length.
STEP 2: LIE ANGLE
STEP 3: SHAFT FLEX
Finding the proper shaft and flex for your swing is crucial for longer, more consistent shots. A shaft that is too stiff or too flexible for your particular swing will result in a loss of distance and/or accuracy. Gareth will analyse your swing and swing speed to determine the shaft flex that gives you the best combination of distance and control.
STEP 4: GRIP SIZE
Determining the proper grip size and type for your clubs is an important and often overlooked part of the custom fitting process. The grip size and type influences the feel, distance and control that a player experiences with the club. If the standard grip size is correct, the middle two fingertips will barely touch the heel position of the hand. If the fingertips are separated from the heel portion of the hand, the grip is too large. If the fingertips are digging into the heel of the palm, the grip is too small.
